Buffalo Beer Week Day 6: The Second Half Begins

As sit here pouring over (puns!) the day’s Buffalo Beer Week happenings while jamming to some Type O Negative, it has dawned on us that today represents the official start of the second half of Beer Week, which is both an exhaustive and depressing thought, but also a welcome relief. Oh, don’t worry about us, we’ll be just fine. We just need a beer.

If you’re reading this, first off, thank you, and second, just know that, including today, you only have 5 days left to help celebrate Buffalo Beer Week. And with the weather we have been having, why wouldn’t you want to get out of the house, get a cold beer in your hand and some quality local tunes in your ears?

Steal the Pint events have been the norm throughout Buffalo Beer Week, and you can keep the glass you drink from tonight with Four Mile Brewing at ABV. Four Mile swag will also be handed out and there will be live music. 7-9pm.

All three Griffon Pub locations (East Aurora, Niagara Falls, Clarence) are hosting Grimm tap takeovers with Living Daylights (Double Dry Hopped Sour Ale), Double Dry Hopped Lumen (IPA), Capslock (APA), Supergoing (Gose), Pineapple {Pop (Dessert Style Berliner Weis), Double Negative (Imperial Stout), Power Pop (Berliner Weis), Castling (Saison), Double Dry Hopped Afterimage (Double IPA), Afterimage (Double IPA), among others, available.

Assorted beers and alesMeet and greet with the brewers of Riverworks Brewing and take part in an unofficial pinball/game tournament. 5-8pm.

Thin Man Brewery is releasing their Brett the Technique 2.0, which is a double dry hopped version of their funky Brett Saison. Thin Man describes the beer as “light berry, lemon, mild funk in the nose. Unripe berry, crisp wheat & a touch of barnyard in the flavor. Tropical fruit, very light funk & berry brett character in the finish.” 6pm.

Other Half Brewing is taking over the taps tonight at Moor Pat with an impressive lineup of beers. The tentative list includes IPA, Forever Ever, DDH All Enigma Everything, DDH Mylar Bags, DDH Hop Showers, Vic Secret+Mosaic DIPA, DDH Double Mosaic Daydream, DDH Stacks on Stacks, DDH Forever Simcoe and DDH Southernhopalistic. There will also be music from DJ/Producer Awake The Silence. 6:30pm.

Murphy Brown’s Craft Beer Emporium is hosting a special Firestone Walker event, Sips and Nibbles. For $25 you will receive 4 6oz. samples, a Firestone glass and charcuterie plate. Beer available includes Helldorado, Sloambic, Stickee Monkee and Walker’s Reserve. 6:30pm.

Enjoy cold brews, smoked meat and live blues from Buffalo’s own River Dog Blues Band at New York Beer Project’s Buffalo Beer Week Blues, Brews & BBQ. 7pm.

It’s also Steal The Pint Week at Buffalo Brewing, meaning that each time you order a pint, you keep the glass (while supplies last). Lafayette Brewing is also offering $3.50 pint specials all Buffalo Beer Week long.
